FA launched an investigation related Wigan - Manchester City post- match trouble

The Argentine appeared to lash out at one of hundreds of fans that encroached into the pitch at full-time after the Sky Bet League One club's 1-0 win dumped the Premier League leaders out in the fifth round. Objects including an advertising board were thrown at police and stewards from the stands and, according to Sky sources, Man City want answers from Wigan as to how so many fans encroached onto the pitch and got so close to their players.

An investigation has been launched into the pitch invasion after Wigan's stunning FA Cup victory over Man City, in which striker Sergio Aguero clashed with supporters.

Wigan have launched a full investigation in conjunction with the FA and City are also keen to hear the observations of the game's governing body.

Events at full-time followed a bust-up in the tunnel at half-time between Wigan manager Paul Cook and City boss Pep Guardiola following the red card to Fabian Delph just before the interval.

Infuriated City players, Guardiola and Cook disagreed over the decision and had to be broken up by staff and players from both teams - all captured by TV images.

After the match, Cook was critical of the Wigan fan who appeared to get involved in an altercation with Aguero.
